The Morgan Silver Dollar Coin is a very significant historical event in American numismatic history as it was minted between 1878 and 1921 and treasured because of its artwork and relation to the westward expansion. The obverse of the coin is designed by George T. Morgan and gives a very detailed image of Lady Liberty that is based on Philadelphia teacher Anna Willess Williams, including flowing hair and a Phrygian cap, which are signs of liberty and bountiful harvest.
