The Peace Dollar Coin is a classical relic of American optimism and devotion to peace after World War I, the beautiful face of Lady Liberty was minted on the obverse of the coin between 1921 and 1935 as a symbol of enlightenment and renewal with her flowing hair topped with sun rays. The back is flawless with a resting bald eagle on a mountain top holding an olive branch with the rays of the setting sun in the backdrop with the inscription of PEACE to celebrations of the post-war spirit.
The Peace Dollar, sculpted by Anthony de Francisci, is worshiped because of its art and historical background. The coin was the final circulating dollar coin ever minted in 90% silver, and it is thus a desirable item to those collectors and investors who appreciate the history of America and the symbolic American quest to find peace. Money was minted at Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco and mint marks were used to indicate place of origin, which further made some issues rare and more desirable.
